Why Chalk Lines?
Our Story and Mission
I'm James. I'm a former drama and public speaking teacher, and before that I spent years in management, leadership and commercial roles — the kind of work where you have to make complex ideas land clearly, quickly, for audiences who aren't always easy to convince.
I started Chalk Lines because I kept watching schools reach for tools when what they actually needed was a conversation. I've sat in CPD training myself. I know what it feels like when it doesn't land — when the room is going through the motions and nothing changes on Monday morning. That's not good enough, and it's not what this is.
Building this programme has been a proper research process. My wife — a teacher herself — has been part of that from the beginning, which means the thinking here has been tested against real classroom experience, not just developed in the abstract.
AI isn't primarily a technology problem. It's a culture problem. And culture change doesn't come in a software subscription.
I'm not here to sell you a platform. I'm here to work with your people — all of them — and leave your school in a genuinely different place.
